Long-Delayed Minecraft Amiibo will be Available In September - IGN

Nearly two years after Minecraft's Steve joined the DLC roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate His (and his female counterpart Alex's) amiibo will finally hit store shelves on September 9.

Twitter was the platform where Nintendo announced the date for the launch of Minecraft's amiibo. The announcement was accompanied by a brief video that gave fans a glimpse at the final designs of the Steve and Alex amiibo. The designs are a faithful representation to the original blocky designs.

Though originally planned for a release in spring 2022 of the amiibos Alex and Steve were delayed until 2022 because of delays in production and logistics.

Now that Minecraft's amiibo collection has finally got an official release date, Nintendo is also nearing the close of its Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo line.  Minecraft Crafting After Steve, the final characters left to the company to convert into amiibo form are Sephiroth, Pyra and Mythra, Kazuya, and Sora the last character added to Smash Ultimate. It's unclear whether Sora will get an amiibo, however.

We looked at Steve's appearance in Super Smash Bros as an DLC fighter. Ultimate and gave his gameplay a 7, calling his faithful representation of Steve "impressive" but pointing out that certain mechanics "can also lead to lots of frustration."
